Cardinal fans, you’ve had this calendar date circled all year. It’s finally time for the redbirds to head to Anaheim to face Albert Pujols and the Angels. Just at the right time too. They are winners of 6 in row and are picking up momentum. They are 5th in the AL in BA in the last 14 days, which is a stark contrast to the season. You know the big man will be motivated. He is apparently “bitter” against the Cardinal’s front office.
“They know what they did”
Pujols pouted after the Cardinals offered him 26 million dollars a year for 5 years. Good ole’ Arte Moreno then called him up and gave him a hug, made him feel “wanted” and Albert impulsively jumped to the west coast. We then know the story. The Cardinals went on to the NLCS while the Angels sat at home dumb founded.
Will there be emotion from the big man? Probably not, he’s not known to show it on the field. I DO expect something between him and Molina. Maybe a friendly tap of the shin guards (I’m looking at YOU Brandon Phillips). I wonder if it will be like Lance Berkman, where he’ll come out during batting practice and chat with the team. Will it be awkward, bitter, or a friendly reunion? I’ll have my eyes glued to the TV, will you?
